Krista is a University of Toronto alumna, earning her Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT) in 2013 and an Honours Bachelor of Physical and Health Education (BPHE Hons) in 2010. She also holds a post-graduate Diploma in Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). This advanced training allows her to perform spinal and peripheral joint manipulations for appropriate patients with stiff joints that have plateaued with conservative treatments.
Passionate about orthopaedics and sports/fitness, Krista volunteered as a medical practitioner at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games. Working alongside the clinic's founder, Catherine Striowski, in the multi-disciplinary polyclinic at the Athletes' Village, Krista treated a wide variety of athletes and sports injuries. To further develop her expertise in sports and orthopaedic rehabilitation, Krista continues to pursue post-graduate courses in orthopaedics and manual therapy.
As a pelvic health physiotherapist, Krista treats individuals assigned female at birth (AFAB) who are experiencing incontinence, pelvic pain, and/or pregnancy- and postpartum-related issues, including labour and delivery preparation. As a mother of two young children, Krista has personally experienced pelvic floor treatment during her pregnancies and postpartum journey. She is deeply passionate about the life-changing benefits pelvic floor physiotherapy can offer, whether for those experiencing symptoms or looking to prevent pregnancy- and birth-related pelvic issues.
With her dual skill set as a FCAMPT physiotherapist and pelvic floor therapist, Krista offers a unique, integrated approach to assessment and treatment. She practices with a trauma-informed lens and is particularly sensitive to patients with mental health conditions, including PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Krista places great importance on your personal goals, adopting a client-centered approach to help you achieve them in a realistic and timely manner.
Outside of the clinic, Krista can be found chasing after her two young boys or walking her two small dogs. She is also an avid spin enthusiast!
